This weekend Texas Tech meets SMU and I expect to see about 100 pass attempts in this game. Both team use a wide-open pass attack that piles up hugh numbers.
While June Jones of SMU is known for his Run-And-Shoot-attack, the offense of Texas Tech's Mike Leach is still a mystery for most commentators and football pundits. The airial attack of Texas Tech tastefully named Air Raid consists of successful offensive strategies. Mike Leach once said he combined elements of Bill Walsh's West-Coast-Offense, Mouse Davis' Run-And-Shoot and the old-fashioned Wishbone.
The Texas Tech offense was called "Offense of the Future" some years back and now in the year 2008 I have to say that the journalist who came up with this term, was absolutly right. It seems that almost half of the Division 1-A teams use some sort of spread offense.
But this weekend the godfathers of spread offenses will meet for the first time (please correct me if I'm wrong!). And which team got the edge?
Definitely Texas Tech! They have the better quarterback in senior Graham Harrell and they are way more experienced. But I won't be surprised if June Jones and true frosh quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell can come up with a miracle.

Great analysis. I would love to get some feedback on my site if you have the time. Check it out if you have the chance. We are in private beta right now, so any suggestions would be awesome.
