NFL Preseason starts today

The NFL Preseason starts today with the Hall of Fame Game. Although the preseason games don't mean anything, I really like them. Because this is the only chance to see some of my favorite college players playing at the pro level. There are a lot of players, who will be stars in the NFL, but some great college athletes have to wait for their chance. In this year's preseason my eye is on: Chicago Bears: They got two outstanding undrafted college athletes on their roster. Chris Leak #12, QB of the national champion, and David Ball #19, who broke Jerry Rice's TD record in college. I hope, that both of them see plenty of action in the preseason and I hope, they won't get cut. Houston Texans The Texans signed undrafted free agent Jared Zabransky, who played QB at Boise State. He got a 33-5 record from 2004 til 2006, the best record of any starting quarterback over that time period. And he will be famous for his "Statue of Liberty"-play to win the 2007 Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma in overtime. He is a winner, definitely something Houston needs! Green Bay Packers Another player from the Florida Gators is on the cheesehead's roster: DeShawn Wynn. Big strong runner, but the Packers try to make a fullback out of him. I hope he'll run over some defenders this season. San Diego Chargers 2nd round draft pick Eric Weddle out of Utah had a great college career. 18 interceptions and he is one of the last Ironman football players. In 2006 in the victory against Air Force he played the whole game, over 80 plays including 2 rushing touchdowns. Yeah, I'm ready for some football!
