This is the final week of college football's regular season. And the Heisman Race comes down to three names: Tebow, McCoy and Bradford. In this week's edition of Bald Guy's Heisman Race I will discuss the chances of the three candidates to win the Heisman Trophy.
Tim Tebow
In most rankings he is behind McCoy and Bradford because he doesn't have the numbers like the other two. But I think the Heisman Trophy is more than just evaluating statistics.
How can Tebow persuade the voters?
He has to win against Alabama and he has to earn style points. And he needs Mizzou to stuff Bradford.
Sam Bradford
Sam Bradford is the frontrunner right now. He disappeared from the Heisman picture after the loss against Texas, although he played fine all season long. He popped up again with the win against Texas Tech. His numbers are stunning and he has a great presence on the field.
How can he lose his Heisman frontrunner spot?
The voters for the Big 12 quarterbacks are torn. McCoy or Bradford? If Bradford stumbles against Mizzou he will lose votes to McCoy. Even if he performaces well in the Big 12 championship game, after all the Sooners 'just' play against 20-ranked Mizzou. At the same time Tebow and the Gators will face the top-ranked team in the nation.
Colt McCoy
While Bradford and Tebow have one more chance to shine, he has to stay at home and root for the defenses of Alabama and Mizzou. McCoy chances to win the Heisman Trophy highly depend on the performance of his competitors. He performed well during the season and his numbers are great, too. The problem is that he and the 'horns defeated Oklahoma too early this year. Oklahoma is considered the best team of the Big 12, because they beat Texas Tech. It's like everybody forgot that Texas topped Oklahoma 45-35. McCoy has to rely on the memory of the voters to win.
Who is favorite of the Bald Guy?
Tim Tebow! Tim Tebow! Tim Tebow!
He is a good kid and if I could hand out the Heisman Trophy, he would receive it for his speech promise after the Ole Miss loss!
